McCain's concerned about effect of TEH GAY on morale of serving, fighting, dying young men & women
McCain says 'don't ask, don't tell' is working

(CNN) - Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain criticized the Obama administration's decision to try to repeal the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that prevents gay service members from serving openly in the military, saying Sunday that "the system is working."

"The military is at its highest point in recruitment, in retention, in professionalism, in capability," McCain said on CNN's "State of the Union." "So to somehow allege that this policy has been damaging the military is simply false."

Instead, McCain called the attempt at repeal "a political promise made by an inexperienced president or candidate for president of the United States."

"I want to know the effect on battle effectiveness and morale, not on how best to implement the change in policy," McCain told CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley. "I don't think that's a lot to ask when we have our young men and women out there serving and fighting and tragically some of them dying."

2. If gays can disrupt the military so much, there is more wrong with morale than gays in the
military. I suppose next he will blame the suicide rate in the military on gays. I get so tired of these old windbag geezers.

6. Yeah, it's perfectly fine to wage illegal wars, blow countries apart, make lots
of money rebuilding them and try to bully the world. But the gays, oh no, that's evil, let's keep it a secret. This guy's a total dinosaur.

4. Exactly what does "serving openly" mean..I mean come on...this type of descriptor
is a total mischaracterization of a very personal and very private matter in well over 95% of the cases.

So the media (again) and the military (again) really deceive the public by inference.

Serving openly does not mean that anyone with any sexual identity is entitled to act in a manner unbecoming of the uniform. Sex, in private, with the partner of one's choice, is not considered behavior unbecoming of the uniform.

8. Hey McCain, that's not the question
Edited on Mon Nov-29-10 10:31 PM by Tx4obama
The question is NOT 'is the policy damaging the military' or 'is the system working'.
THE question and issue is 'is DADT discriminatory towards LGBT'ers that wish serve their country'
and the answer to THAT question is 'yes'.
