For the sake of the 4th we must be secure.
The government must protect "the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects" as stated clearly in the 4th amendment. This requirement is the basis for the massive public investment in advanced security systems and procedures at airports. While some may be embarrassed by being striped naked for observation or by having their genitalia examined by trained security professionals, clearly the threat warrants these measures. We are all now perfectly safe once aboard an airplane, thanks to the special measures being taken.

We are however not safe elsewhere. As noted by security state consultants, the massive lines at security checkpoints are now themselves inviting targets for the vast army of enraged jihadists determined to end our way of life, deprive us of our rights, and force us to live in a cruel theocratic police state. And then there is the Portland bomber, arrested for attempting to set off a fake bomb supplied to him by the FBI in downtown Portland, a crime that demonstrates that no public space is safe. We cannot allow this insecurity to persist.

The TSA should take charge of all public areas and establish security checkpoints modeled after the airport checkpoints, that will examine everybody passing through and secure our persons, houses, papers and effects.

5. The next suicide bomb could well be during a pat down, killing people waiting for theirs
That's the way they think. The body count could feasibly be higher than if they exploded a bomb in an airplane.
