Streakers!
During the Carter years, there was a fad called "streaking". People, bare-ass naked, would streak in the most unpredictable places. It was shocking and funny at the same time.

I wonder what would happen if people started streaking at our airports? Nothing is more dangerous to American security than naked people. Nudity is more dangerous than terrorists. Authorities would have to rethink their policy. Do they keep searching people or do they expose our children to nude people streaking through our airports?

It could tie the system up in knots. Just think. :-)

1. Personally, I don't think I'd try streaking anymore in the age of tasers...

5. "Oh, yes, they call it the Streak... lookitit, lookitit..."
"...fastest thing on two feet..."

I think several have shown up at the TSA checkpoints all-but-naked (in bikinis, their skivvies, etc..) and it seems to have not made a dent (or the point intended)... at least not yet.

That said, the TSA controversy is one that is lose-lose for liberals. If you agree with it, you're contributing to the creeping police state. If you don't, then you're setting yourself up for massive finger-pointing should someone with a device actually bring down a US-originating aircraft.

7. Absolutely.
So why not agree with the Repubs on this issue?? Maybe we can get bipartisanship after all? Unless of course, you think it is keeping us safe?

9. Why would this be a security problem?
They're practically strip searching people now. Streakers could get waved right on through.

12. Maybe the TSA is working on ridding Americans of their prudishness.

13. I was making a joke, and also a point.
For such a prudish country an awful lot of people are happy to see their fellow passengers poked, prodded, and groped.

15. Yeppers. If it's actually about security............
and not just a naked (pun intended) power play, then this SHOULD be no problem.

I hope more people who have to fly do what the lady in L.A. and that other guy did and show up in bathing suits. I mean, they can't declare bathing suits are in violation of any sort of law or they would have to arrest everybody who goes to a beach, lake, river or pool. It would make a point in a big way.

14. Actually, it started before Carter
I graduated from High School in 1975, and people were streaking then.

16. It was a short-lived fad: turns out most folk aren't that interested to see random strangers naked
So the social rewards, for stripping off and running about, weren't so great and folk lost interest
