Countdown - Interesting and horrifying thought
Edited on Mon Nov-22-10 08:19 PM by CLANG
A guy talking to Keith on Countdown said what the TSA is doing isn't going to stop the terrorists anyway. All they do is load up on the explosives (backpack, whatever) and walk into the airport in the area where there are long winding lines of people trying to get their tickets/boarding passes, and KABOOM!

Now people aren't just nervous about flying, but they're scared to death just to enter the airport! How is their the TSA going to combat that?

2. Yes, why when I fly I go through security ASAP
it is a bad funnel and reason 1000 why the system does not fully work as advertised.

By the way, if I were a terrarist that is not the only place where that happens... think of your local mall on black friday...

And no, I ain't giving anybody any ideas... any self respecting security aware person knows this...

4. Looks like TSA will have to hire another 50,000 to staff the parking lots
to prevent terrorists from entering any buildings

11. Hell, why not come to your house?
Your bedroom?

Maybe read your journal to see if you are thinking terrorist thoughts. For that they'll need to move in with you. Shit, every other person could work for the TSA.

8. What they want is to keep people
in fear, it makes them more docile to giving up liberties. It's really there for their perception management.

9. A terrorist could walk into anywhere with that backpack.
Which makes me wonder if the federal government will spend $100k a pop to put these nude-o-scopes at the door of every mall, Wal-Mart, restaurant, etc across the country. Gotta be safe, you know.

12. THAT is why Israel does not do the porno scanners, and only
Edited on Mon Nov-22-10 09:05 PM by avaistheone1
does pat downs when absolutely warranted as a result of their 6 layer screening.

Former Israel Airports security chief: 'Full body scanners are useless'

"I don't know why everybody is running to buy these expensive and useless machines. I can overcome the body scanners with enough explosives to bring down a Boeing 747," Rafi Sela told parliamentarians probing the state of aviation safety in Canada.

"That's why we haven't put them in our airport," Sela said, referring to Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport, which has some of the toughest security in the world.

Sela, former chief security officer of the Israel Airport Authority and a 30-year veteran in airport security and defence technology, helped design the security at Ben Gurion.

He told MPs on the House of Commons transport committee via video conference from Kfar Vradim, Israel, that he wouldn't reveal how to get past the virtual strip-search scanners, but said he can provide briefings to officials with security clearance.

13. What is all the surveillance for anyway?
What is driver's license and passport updates, cameras everywhere, phone surveillance, data mining, and the time given before boarding the flight worth if it does not provide enough information to screen people for flying??? What are we being surveilled for if it doesn't work?
