Lots of people want Vick forgiven. How about Gary Condit?
Today it was proved beyond any doubt that he was completely innocent in connection with the death of his intern, Chandra Levy. It was all wrong. It cost him his career and peace of mind. It was a media frenzy. A circus. he was convicted in the media and hounded out of town when he did NOTHING illegal. Maybe not what people might condone with respect to marital fidelity or choice of partners, but all completely legal.

Where's the sympathy for him?

And no ..... I am not a Gary Condit fan. But right is right.

1. I do have sympathy for Condit...
Vick, nothing but utter contempt. Both are well earned.

7. Keep in mind that Condit was a founding member of the Blue Dog Democrats (seriously)
Edited on Mon Nov-22-10 06:45 PM by Xithras
He was part of their initial formation in 1995. During the Clinton Administration, he also had the dubious distinction of being the Democrat who voted against Clinton-backed legislation more often than any other. And during the impeachement hearings, he famously called Clinton a liar on the House floor, and demanded that Bill Clinton "come clean" with the American people.

Gary Condit was my representative at the time. While he probably didn't deserve the Levy flak, and while he was certainly a Democrat, he was NO FRIEND to progressive causes. Many of us in his district really didn't miss him when he left.

And, since that district has remained in Democratic hands since, no real harm was done.

9. I absolutely agree. Condit's career was completely over and
what he went through is unforgivable. Meanwhile, Vick who horribly tortured innocence animals, is all of a sudden Mr. Big shot. It makes me sick.

10. You'll get no argument from me. As stated in the OP, I am no Condit fan.
The point of this post was to indict the media. In all the nooz today, I heard no mention of him.

11. 2 totally different scenarios. Condit didn't kill and was prosecuted in the press
So yes, he is due sympathy and recompense for his losses and suffering.

Vick didn't just torture and kill dogs. He did it for pleasure. He wet them down and electrocuted them for fun. He hung them for fun. He took one by the tail and swung him around like a jumprope, slamming his head into the ground with each pass until he killed him, for fun.

Did he laugh while listening to their agonized cries? He is a sociopath and/or a psychopath. Someday when he can't play football any more, he'll probably go back to killing for fun. Maybe next time it will be toddlers.

12. Torture for fun...
We've seen it time and time again starting with torture and killing of animals and going on to the torture and killing of humans.

I try to put myself in Vick's place... my mind quite literally will not let me go there.

I can't imagine someone that broken can ever be rehabilitated. Some of the tortured dogs can't be either.

13. Sanctimonious sack of shit, Condit. Complained about the CLENIS while
boinking an intern himself.

That being said...

Vick has served his sentence and paid his duties to society as defined by the laws of the country.

That does not mean you or anyone else has to personally "forgive" him. Apparently some people have forgiven him.

14. He lied to the police. He obstructed their investigation.
And while he was not guilty he sure as hell *acted* guilty. He drove out to the suburbs to throw a gift box in a dumpster. He is not in any position to complain about being labeled a suspect.

Did he ever apologize for lying to the police?

15. I don't feel sympathy for him. He hindered the investigation into his girlfriend's murder.
The guy deserved a circus and to be hounded out of town.
