5 Evil words

EPSOM, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire school board chairman has resigned after an outcry over a
Veterans Day speech in which he told students to repeat what he called five evil words: socialism, communism, progressivism, totalitarianism and liberalism.

Gordon Ellis of Epsom says he didn’t realize his speech was objectionable until he arrived at an emergency school board meeting on Wednesday. He resigned as chairman, but kept his spot on the board.
Ellis gave the speech in front of 470 kindergarten through eighth grade students at Epsom Central School.
<snip>

WMUR-TV says Ellis, a Vietnam veteran, claimed he was trying to teach students about enemies of the constitution.

I am speechless... evil?

3. Parts of NH are sort of the "Idaho of the NE."
There is and has always been a far rw strain.

Main thing here is that he was found out and forced out.

In Idaho, they would have elected him king.

5. He didn’t realize his speech was objectionable
He wouldn't if all he ever watches & listens to are Faux Noise and wingnut radio.

Expose yourself to it long enough and it makes you stupid.

7. And that is not sarcasm.
It dose exactly that and cults use that same principle to brain wash their members...
so it is likely he really did believe it was not offensive.

9. You're right, I meant that literally.
Thirty years of nonstop indoctrination has taken its toll on the gullible. Your comparison with cults is a good one. Their worldview defense, for example, is similar to that of religious sect members.
