So repubs worried about 18 billion but not 700 billion?
Edited on Fri Nov-19-10 04:01 PM by quinnox
THE republicans excuse for not voting for the unemployment extension is that they are terribly worried about the 18 billion it would cost and add to the deficit.

Yet they are gung ho to give the richest Americans (which comprise a tiny percentage of the population) a tax cut that will end up costing 700 billion and think that this would be great for the country.

What is wrong with this picture?

2. GM just got a $45 billion dollar tax break
That money had to be made up somewhere, somehow.

Wouldn't you just love to be a GM board member right now? I'm sure their Christmas bonuses will be over the top this year by not having to pay all that money in taxes that would help the unemployed.

3. Tax cuts don't cost any money, silly!
It's all Invisible Hand and Free Market and stuff. It's kind of complicated, and math was never my best subject, but see, Reagan proved that deficits don't matter, unless they do, and Cheney said it was their due, so are you going to go against two great Americans like Ronald Reagan and Dick Cheney? One of them was the president, you know, so you can't deny that! Anyway, there's jobs, see, and even though I haven't had one since the first days of the second Bush's first administration, it's all Bill Klintoon's fault, except now it's Obama's fault because he hired Bill Klintoon's wife, which she shouldn't be, because you're supposed to get a divorce when somebody cheats on you with a woman not your wife, like those other great Americans Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh, who's not a junkie pedophile, so stop saying that.

Now that I've run ringlets around your logical song, arrest my case!

4. They want people to be miserable...they think it will get them the White House...
Just saw some info today that people get more conservative as their circumstances worsen.

8. We could make the tax rate 100%, not doing so is costing us trillions.
