Gay Tea Party Group: Palin's Not a Homophobe

A gay, conservative, tea-party heavy group thinks it's stupid to label Sarah Palin's daughter or family "homophobes" ... just because Willow Palin called a guy a fa**ot on Facebook.

GOProud.org just told TMZ, "The slur used here is one you could hear on the streets of West Hollywood or Chelsea every day of the week. Apparently, it's only a homophobic slur when it comes from the daughter of a conservative female leader."

We beg to differ. See here, here, here and here.

The group adds, "Make no mistake; this is all about destroying Sarah Palin by any means necessary."

As we first reported, 16-year-old Willow used the word to attack a male classmate on Facebook after the guy criticized Sarah Palin's reality show.

12. Gay Tea Party ... sounds like an oxymoron.
:hide:

Ok ... I now see, that was wrong. I prayed about my comment above and I do see that it was not as well worded as I would have liked.

And so .... I now freely denounce and reject myself and my comment above. In addition ...

... I would like to also apologize to anyone who was offended by my unfortunate selection of words, words which were intended, not to inflame the situation, but to help bridge the division between the average stupid Republican, the extra stupid Tea Party Republicans, and what I can only call ... the extremely stupid, perhaps crazy, Gay Tea party Republicans.

And so again ... if I offended any of you, I am, and will continue to be, very sorry for having done so.

21. Well, remember, Terry Dolan was Jesse Helms' biggest fundraiser.
Some people can rationalize any amount of self-loathing behavior.

Fa**ot is not a slur. Only when the Palins use it. Might want to re-think that statement.

"The slur used here is one you could hear on the streets of West Hollywood or Chelsea every day of the week
True! Homophobes everywhere use it..

"Make no mistake; this is all about destroying Sarah Palin by any means necessary." LMAO.. are you fucking kidding? She doesn't need any help in that area. Maybe she should be a good parent and monitor her kids internet use.

6. So, if I were to call the folks at GOProud a bunch of . . .
Well, fill in the blank yourself. But they'd step up and defend me because it's the sort of thing you could hear in West Hollywood or Chelsea every day of the week. Isn't that sweet? They must be an extra cute bunch, because that kind of bone-deep stupidity is very unattactive.

10. These people are the worst
I hate people who are self destructive like this. How can any gay person be a republican, or a tea bagger. One of the Tea Baggers things is to make homosexuality illegal. This proves how stupid our country is getting.

17. You'd think that but I can almost see where these folks are coming from
I mean we pretty much failed the GLBT community these past 2 years without doing one thing for DADT or DOMA. I know within our heart of hearts that Democrats want to make sure that the GLBT community has equal rights across the board but as always we're too busy straddling the fence to actually make it happen.

Having said that, a few gay men I know said that since they feel they probably will never get their equal rights does it matter which party they vote? And since republicans are perceived as the party for the rich or wannabe rich, might as well vote for whom might actually allow you to keep your money.

I hope I explained that properly.

Thing is, I hope that in 2011-2012 we democrats work harder to earn the votes not just from GLBT voters, but other minorities too.

I live in San Francisco aka. "Homo Central" to Teabagger types. I grew up with gays, work with gays, and hang with gays -- and I have yet to hear any of them call each other "faggot" for grins and giggles. :eyes: "Mary" and "Queen", yes, "faggot" no. I wonder if GOProud.org has any members who are actually gay?

18. When you use the word "faggot", then you're a homophobe
Surprising that a gay group doesn't understand the power and context of the word "faggot"
