After all the bashing and teeth gnashing, It wasn't even close
Pelosi wins Democratic leadership fight
By the CNN Wire Staff
November 17, 2010 2:41 p.m. EST

Washington (CNN) -- House Democrats voted to make Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, their leader for the 112th Congress Wednesday, overcoming objections from moderates who argued that she was partly responsible for the party's overwhelming defeat at the polls two weeks ago.

Pelosi turned back a challenge from North Carolina Rep. Heath Shuler, a member of the party's diminished centrist "Blue Dog" faction, in a 150 to 43 vote. The speaker -- now set to be House minority leader in January -- retained the solid support of party liberals, who have noted her fundraising prowess and past ability to lead congressional Democrats to power, among other things.

An earlier motion to delay the Democratic leadership vote until December 8 was easily defeated in a 68 to 129 vote. Some rank-and-file members were seeking more time to "fully understand the causes of our historic losses" in the midterm elections, according to the resolution.

2. so called dems that blame pelosi,
one of history's most effective speakers, for the dems losses are the same people that bought the RW smear of Michael Moore. Nancy Pelosi and Michael Moore are national treasures. She may be the only fighter we have left. As for Michael, despite what the RW talking points say, He's been right on with almost everything, and way ahead of the pack.

4. It seems Democrats in the House got the point of the election
the point being that the last thing the party needs to do is move toward the right again.

I never thought Shuler had a chance. It was just annoying as hell that he was clueless enough to try.
