Why are the Repubs so scared of meeting with the President??
Because they are afraid they will be exposed for the frauds that they are. They are scared to death that the tea-bagging morons will actually see the truth about them. They are only masquerading as a national Party when they are nothing more than corporate sycophants.

Yes, they should be shaking in their loafers. They would be exposed. Their lies would be laid bare. They have nothing to offer but obstruction. They do not wish to have it exposed in public by the other Party. They know they can depend on the corporate media to keep their secrets.

Why are they so scared? It's pretty obvious with anyone with an IQ equal to Sarah Palin and her followers.

2. They know he's a stronger and more intelligent person than any of them. Simple.

They're afraid of him.

On Edit: Oh yeah, and like FLyellowdog said, he's black.

3. They have nothing to offer or that they will concede
and they know if they show up the whole sham will become transparent. It already is transparent to those of us on the D side, of course, but you have a point about the conspiracy to keep it all secret. :kick: & R!

5. Will their meeting be open to the public or at least to some press?
If not then why should they be worried. It will be their word  or the President's word on what was said.....Republicans are not going to believe anything the President says, no matter what.

7. They know the party of "NO" can only work so long. Now they have to
demonstrate something other than "NO" and they know they have nothing to offer and will fail. So, now escapism is being tried by the party of "NO."

15. They're Overplaying...Yet Again...
These shitstains aren't done with their victory laps. No matter what the issue, you'll find a GOTB spinmeister who say the American public voted "overwhelmingly" for them. Bullshit. But the corporate media is running with this meme and are sure the President isn't just a lame duck but totally inept as well. With this kind of PR, why go ruin it by being shown how deceitful and insincere you are.

The rushpublicans want to run out the clock on this Congressional session...finish the obstructions and get ready for the next round. The teabaggers aren't playing along like the establishment wants them to...and thus are continuing to jockey around. Boner and McChinless are still trying to consolidate their positions and leadership and if they dare to be accomodating to the President, Rushbo and the faux noise machine will pummel them.

They're also trying to play a game of brinksmanship. These fukwads want that tax cut for the rich real bad and are gonna grandstand like crazy over the next couple weeks attempting to scare the public (biggest tax increase bullshit) and bully their bought politicians into making sure the rich continue to freeload. They're hoping that with a limited number of days and extreme pressure to do something that the Democrats will roll (to be determined).
