Poll question: Your choice of protest to TSA privacy invasions.
We have to protest this somehow. Your approach?

1. Other: I choose to travel by air.
That's my choice. I choose to simply go through the security line as I have always done since security screening began.

I don't think they run north of D.C., but damn are they nice.

8. I used to have to get from NH to Long Island for my job - I drove.
It took longer to drive to Logan, park, get on a fucking plane, get to Kennedy, get a car, and make it to Newsday's office in the rental than it did to just drive there in my own car - and I'm talking 2 hours or more here. I could also leave whenever I needed to, which usually meant later than scheduled, and not give a shit about traffic or catching a plane. I got paid for mileage, but that really wasn't a big deal. It was just easier and didn't involve the stress.

31. I used to have to fly INTO L.A. to GET to San Diego by plane. That sucked.
Especially the time I had a 757 going out and was supposed to have a 767 coming back. The return flight was canceled because of "mechanical problems" (not enough passengers), so they put me on a fucking MD-80 to Dallas with a 2-hour layover for ANOTHER fucking MD-80 to Logan. Fucking Greyhound buses with wings. Damn I hate those things. Worst fucking jet in the world. Can you tell I'm still upset about that?

5. Nationwide boycott campaign where groups get together
Pick a month, Week or popular travel time and boycott every airline. Do not fly to hawaii, do not fly to Disneyland or Disneyworld.
Cancel any non-emergency or Work-Related travel.

40. You are correct. The only way sanity will return is for the public to put
economic pressure on the airlines which, in turn, will put pressure on the politicians. They don't listen to us, but they will listen to the corporations whose bottom lines are being affected.

grope or a full body scan by some abusive minion just because the president who appointed his/her boss has a "D" after his name.

16. It was over 10 years ago, but I was given a boarding pass the DAY BEFORE - didn't have to check in.
No shit. The flight out of Evansville, IN was overbooked and I agreed to get bumped to a flight the next morning. They gave me a fucking boarding pass on the spot for the next flight. I went to the check-in desk and they didn't even WANT to look at my ID (I offered) because I had the pass. That just SO proved who I was, eh? I didn't even have to go through a metal detector because I was "pre-screened" and got to bypass the screening line. That's when I realized that airport security was a fucking joke.

Besides, all you need is a pair of disposable chopsticks like they hand out in restaurants and a sheet of 40 grit sandpaper. That's way more dangerous than a fucking box cutter and their so called "screening" won't pick that up.

21. There are so many potential tools of terror on board the
aircraft already that this crap is truly a joke. Amazing that anyone buys that it's making them safer.

Uh, no. It's just making guys like Michael Chertoff, the former "Homeland" (In)security Sec. rich. He shills for the aptly named Rapiscan porn-o-scanner and is laughing all the way to the bank while he takes corporate jets and is never forced to undergo a humiliating screening.

Glad people are finally catching on to the scam. It's about time.

36. About 3 years ago I had to drive back home to get an ID.
I had stupidly forgot on my kitchen counter. They let me keep my bags behind the desk, pre check in and not screened, while I went and got them.

I nicely and gently pointed this security flaw out to the manager at the counter and he just did not get it.

Security in the US is a not funny expensive joke.

38. There are lots of good possibilities that would make life
absolute hell for these goons. Some of them are stuff that can't be helped like a really nasty menstrual situation. Some, of course, like the big rubber apparatus are just good for a giggle. I'm sure the travelling public can get very creative, and will insist on public patdowns.

22. Royalty is never scanned. Imagine Old Lady
Barbara Bush flying commercially - it's a stretch, I know - and being told to go stand in the scanner or being invasively patted down. (Of course they'd have to pay some TSA guy about a million dollars to touch her but that's another topic.) Anyhow, it would never happen. Not in a million years. She'd be escorted through a back entrance and bypass all the shit totally. Same with all rich, powerful people. The rules don't apply to them and never have.

37. I won't be scanned.
But if they are patting me down I will calmly but clearly and loudly proclaim to the heavens after the screener goes past my junk that "No - I won't meet you in the bathroom and NO I don't want you to suck my dick. Now get the fuck away from me you fucking pervert." And then I will start yelling for the cops and a supervisor.

17. I'll just be an old fat naked woman for peace
and shimmy my way through the thing. That should cause them to lose whatever they've eaten over the past week.

Farts are only good in the bomb sniffer contraptions and beer plus egg salad is a much more devastating combo than beans and asparagus.

Beans, potatoes and cabbage would do it, though.

26. When you've got to go, you've got to go. Truly,
if somebody has been waiting in a long line and nature is frantically knocking at the door any pressure on the genitals could well trigger an "accident." Can't say I feel sorry for the agents in that kind of situation, though. Serves them right for not seeking out a real job.

34. Hell, no. I could never take a job that involved humiliating people.
I don't think any TSA agent would ever have to be in the unfortunate position of feeling up Limpballs. With his money he doesn't have to fly commercially, and even if he did, he'd be taken in through a back door somewhere. No way do the rich and powerful subject themselves to the routine humiliations endured by the rest of us.
