My statement signing PCCC and Raul Grijalva's letter supporting Social Security

As is the case for all Americans under the retirement age, cutting Social Security or raising the retirement age will not only affect me directly in the future, but will have economic consequences that will affect me and everyone else today.

How could you consider raising the retirement age with high unemployment numbers? How is this supposed to solve anything?

The dismantling of the public safety net will drive more people into poverty and further divide our nation into two classes, the rich and the rest. I thought we had a Democratic majority, up until recently in both houses of Congress. Why is this even on the table?


That's what I put in the comments box. Don't know if someone else has already posted about this, but they've already got over 39,000 signatures from their goal of 40,000.

But will they listen to us?

they'll raise the goal and keep going. I hope they do. They are good at getting visibility and generating responses really fast. Good for them.
