2. Oh, somebody knows. It was probably an accidental launch
and nobody wants to 'fess up. We'll find out, eventually, and someone will get demoted. I saw the video, and imagine it was a naval vessel that did it. Lots of naval traffic off CA. Watch for news about it sometime today.

6. There's a link with video in my post below yours. Interview with Daniel Ellsworth
who postulates that it may have been an ICBM launch from a sub to "show our abilities." (sic)

Puerto Maldonado, Peru, 1951

Certainly not a Hawk, either.

7. OK. Anybody seen Dan Ackroyd?
This is straight outta the script for "Spies Like Us, II"

Mercifully, it was never made, but apparently, from this story, the "treatment's" still floating around.

(Not that they couldn't just blame it on a "terrorist" bomb if they hit one ...)

Either they're telling the truth and we're fucked, or they're lying and it's business as usual. So comforting, either way.

10. Lots of those weird missile launches...Norway...Canada...
This Thing Spirals, too -- like the Norwegian UFO.

Of course, it's all a coincidence there've been so many unexpected "test launches" right next to populated areas.

13. Oh fer fuck's sake! Do you know how many missiles the U.S. has?
Hell, the military couldn't keep track of $9 billion cash that was air-lifted into Iraq at the beginning of the occupation. You expect them to know where each and every missile they have is? It's not like it hit your house. And if it did, the military would probably pay you a couple thousand dollars for the inconvenience, and not even bill you the cost of the missile! What do you libruls want, anyway? Isn't it enough to just pay your taxes and not worry yourselves over the minutiae, like missiles.

17. No, they just aren't telling.
I would venture to guess a submarine-based ICBM was tested, and they NEVER comment on those.

Ten years from now...maybe you'll read about it.

If not, then we may have much bigger problems at Headquarters.
