Isn't there still a problem with electronic voting machines?
It seems that since 08, the big stories about voting machine glitches, error, aver/under votes and general election stealing are not being reported. Does this mean that these problems are just not happening or are they just being ignored?

5. By 7:10 am, two of the four electronic machines at my precinct were down.
And the electronic driver's license scanner that pulls up our registration info was kaput.

Not saying there was any funny business, but it surely slowed down the process since they didn't have backup paper registration records on hand.

6. They are being ignored. You can cruise the Election Reform Forum
where a number of problems were posted before, during and after the election.

10. When we vote
we show our driver's license to a real human being when we check in. We have a paper ballet. After we fill out the ballet, we feed it into a machine that collects and counts what we have marked off. I doubt if there is any fraud here because we have the paper ballets that could be counted on their own if there was a question.

However, I would not trust the touch screen ballets. No paper trail left there. It should be a federal law that all ballets must be on paper so there is proof that the votes were counted accurately. When bush won his second term, we heard stories that in some parts of Ohio, every other Democratic vote was switched to a Republican vote. But with no paper trail, it could not be proven. It was curious though that the company that supplied those voting machines was republican. So, it just makes you wonder.
