2. Yes, that amount seems like some sort of joke.

Even though Indonesia has so far not requested international aid, and I wonder if this is just an offer to reach out and see if monetary aid would be accepted by the Indonesian gov't, I imagine Canadians and Canadian Aid Agencies will be raising much, much more than that.

The aid isn't meant for cash distribution to those impacted. It's meant to buy food, tents, and clothing for those displaced by this disaster.

$100,000 will buy a lot of food. And tents.

Canada donated BEFORE Indonesia has even asked for help,the money is being given to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to go to providing non-food emergency supplies to some of those affected by the recent volcanic eruptions and earthquake.

Golly gosh, I don't understand the need to sneer about a donation to help a country in need but, hey, whatever floats your boat I guess.
