What You Need to Know Before Drawing Conclusions About Last Night
Of the 60 seats that flipped from Republican to Democratic, only 10 were partisan democratic districts, and the most Democratic Republican seat right now is a D+4.

This was NOT a wave... it was the undertow that followed the Democratic waves of 2006 and 2008. It was those waves receding.

I can't stress this enough.

1. And even for that, the R's spent a fuckload of money. Now, they've got the House
for two years, we're they will be expected to originate "solutions". I don't think that's going to help them in 2012.

3. They don't need solutions that work though
They will have plenty of "solutions", but they don't have to work or get approved. I wish the media would hold them to the fire, but I don't see that happening.

2. Definitely. If this was a "mandate" they'll need a boatload of viagra.
Besides that, this really is a moron minority. Most Americans want Obama to succeed while these nutbuggers do not.

4. That's not what giuliani said on the view....
he said the voters sent 2 messages....that they don't like the health care plan that was forced on them, and that they didn't like the direction Obama was taking the country. Just his opinion I know.

5. In 1994, Republicans took the House and Senate...

In 2006, Democrats took the House and Senate

In 2010, Republians took the House.

It was more than an undertow, it was a strom tide caused by Economic anxiety.

6. I agree
Trying to broad-brush the entire nation filled with widely disparate Congressional districts is an exercise in futility.

11. Yes, and the economic malaise is going to continue to fester
and there's going to be a tidal wave of corporate money creating a REAL tsunami of Rethug support in 2012.

I don't believe this is the ebb and flow of the sea anymore - I believe we are in the midst of a catastrophic rise in the water line.

10. WE STILL LOST CONTROL OF THE HOUSE YOU CAN'T SUGAR COAT IT
I can't stress that enough. Free the DNC, return Dr. Dean to greatness, get Alan Grayson in control, GET PEOPLE WITH SPINE IN LEADERSHIP AGAIN and maybe we'll get control back in 2012.

Morons.

12. "Get Alan Grayson in control?"
He ran a really bad campaign -- the Taliban Dan thing was ridiculous, I like him in the house but not controlling campaigns!
