I'm not really stressed out about tonight's results
I think we all knew that the republicans were going to clean up

maybe we didn't want to believe it but I think we all knew it

We'll still have control of the Senate and the White House so that will hopefully blunt too much batshit craziness coming from the House

we have two years to really show the American people what the republicans are all about-NOT A DAMN THING!

tonight in no way reflects a permanent shift in probably a majority of these districts

my district has traditionally been Democratic and the Democrat will probably lose tonight-the current Democratic candidate defeated the incumbent in the primary and today was a contest between a very conservative republican and a less conservative Democrat

we as Democrats need to take a page from the republicans-they started preparing for this election after Obama was elected and have been running for the past two years

we need to mourn our losses tonight and start tomorrow to reclaim the House

1. Reagan lost the house in 1982. We'll have 2012
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 10:51 PM by AzNick
As I posted earlier, Reagan was at 30% in 1982 and the dems had a field day in the mid-term.

Then he found his groove. And won in a landslide in 1984.

2. I don't mind it too terribly. I think the new GOP house is going to be a sore disappointment
for those who voted for it.

I'm OK.

Then again, I live in Massachusetts. Lot of people around here are in desolation tonight.

6. Agreed...
I'm not overly upset about tonight. Disappointed, yes.

We still have the senate and the WH.

I'm hoping the Dems fight harder against the teabaggers and show them for what they are.

7. money.

they have endless amounts, we don't. Tonight proves that is what wins. If it won tonight, it will win in two years, after that there will not be enough of the democratic party left to make any difference.

This seems like football to me, all that matters is my side wins, rules are for loosers, fairness is for loosers, helping others is for loosers.

good vs. evil? nonsense.

9. It will be interesting to see what kind of bills the Twilight Zone party comes up with.
At least we'll have a safety net in both the Senate & in Obama's veto power. Obama will protect the common people; the bills enacted would have his name, so to speak, on them.

Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert will have their jobs cut out for them! And we'll have lots to talk about on DU, for sure.

10. There is a lot to be sad about in Wisconsin tonight
Almost the entire state appears to be turning red. This is absurd.

13. Agree. Take a long-term view. There are some positives, and the GOP now owns some real ding dongs.
The next act on the political stage (2010-2012) stands to offer opportunities for Democrats to get their act together. The Republican Party is hardly in a position of strength. They're going to be highly exposed.

14. Me euther
I'll get up, go to work, clock in and do my job like any other day. I have a wonderful wife and daughter that I still have to take care of. I've got a 1965 chevy pickup street rod project to work on. I've got better things to do than sit and worry about what this new bunch of crooks is going to do. I wasn't getting much help at all from them anyway.

17. The Supreme Ct. decision is the new reality, though
Hate to be a downer, but that one was pretty much a democracy killer.

18. It gives us a campaign target for 2012.
Boner either works with Obama and the Senate, or he becomes campaign ad fodder in 2012.
