Oh, my gosh, look at the latest poll result in Alaska
for the senate race:

http://www.haysresearch.com/page2/page31/page31.html

If the election for U.S. Senate were held today and the candidates were Joe Miller, a Republican, Scott McAdams, A Democrat, or another candidate whose name you would have to write in, for whom would you vote, or are you undecided?

Joe Miller
27.1%

Scott McAdams
25.9%

Another candidate you have to write in
25.3%

Undecided
21.7%

Could this be any closer?

Phil Munger at ProgressiveAlaska opines that the PPP poll this weekend that showed Miller with a 7 point lead couldn't have been correct because it showed over 40% of people of color voting for Miller. Something's wrong with that statistic, I would guess.

Keep your fingers crossed for us today. This is a biggie for Alaska.

4. Trying to poll "people of color" in Alaska is tough due to sample size.
You'll get wildly varying numbers, because you're only talking about 3 or 4 percent of a state with a tiny population.

5. All candidates names begin with "M"

That has to be confusing to some of those polled.

IMHO, party affiliation as identified on the ballot is going to influence the result, as I'd bet that some voters are having trouble keeping the names straight.

12. You know the write-in list ballooned to eight pages
and party affiliations are not allowed by the names, so anyone asking for that list to help them spell Murkowski are really going to have a time of it.

9. I just voted and there was no list of write ins presented
and I didn't ask for one..Looking at the ballot I began to realize just how big of an accomplishment it would be for Lisa to win. I really believe Scott is going to win this one....

13. I'm feeling really good about it, too.
That huge leap in the undecideds within the past week really gives me some hope.

11. I think this is gonna drag out for a few weeks...lots of challenges to those
write-ins...I can't see Miller getting in now after he exposed himself as a criminally insane meglomaniac.

14. This is good news
Hopefully all those undecideds will put McAdams over the top. Though I don't think the election will be decided for weeks, if not months.

16. Good think Lisa's last name isn't Smith
I know the family is well known, but how many misspelled ballots will have to be tossed?
