Voting today brought a smile to my face...
When I signed-in to vote this morning, I saw my name and my wife's in the ledger. We've been married 22 years and in every election since 1988, our names were one right after the other. Same last name and address.

But this election was different. In between our names was...our daughter! That's right, our 18-year-old daughter is voting for the first time today!

I can remember holding her on my shoulder when I voted for Clinton the first time. She was only a few months old.

But now she'll be walking in today and voting...all on her own! :D

They grow up so fast!

3. Great! Our daughter voted for the first time today as well...
it was so much fun riding over to the precinct together and watching her be all grown up--especially knowing that she votes for democrats. :)

5. I kid her about holding her on my shoulder while voting in 1992
The polling place had one of its voting machines break down. We only had two to begin with!

So we had to wait in line some 60-90 minutes. Needless to say, although she never fussed and slept much of the time, I left the polling place with my left shoulder a little..."wet."

I kid her about it today: I tell her I was voting for Clinton/Gore and she was voting against Bush/Quayle!

10. There was a time when I had just started voting and my sisters had
moved out of the house but still lived in our precinct. The poll workers were a little confused on election day when they saw my Dad arrive at the polls at the end of the workday with one young woman yet leave with another. :-)
