Did anyone notice that NO ONE said Sanity did not need restoring
Only that the way Jon Stewart tried was not adequate... Not even FOX News had the gall to say Sanity was Rampant in America....

2. Somewhat ironic in that with control of the Presidency and both House of Congress that sanity needed
restoring. The message seemed somewhat muddled or illusory. Was it implying our control of government has resulted in a situation where sanity needed to be restored? I thought it was a bs message from Stewart from the get go.

4. Why do you think that? What did Obama do?

Jon Stewart implying that sanity needed restoring during the Obama administration is all on Jon Stewart. This is obvious. Or are you being intentionally obtuse?

6. It wasn't the white house and congress where it was needed
it was the media and the populace.

8. It was blanantly and clearly spoken, repeatedly...
both at the rally, and on his show for the entire month leading up to it.

11. More than 1,000 satellite rallies in 84 countries...
plus the 200,000+ who attended. Lots and lots and lots of people apparently did not think it was stupid and tone deaf. I guess it's a humor thing.

13. My point, and I'm sure you get it, is that he was punking the Obama Admin and Democratic leaders, not
the "populace asnd media" as you assert. KO is right, Jon jumped the shark and it went right over your head.

That for your safety you do it from inside of a padded room if you're not in one now, or is that too sane-sounding?

Aimed square at the heart of the media and civil irrationality, there was nothing that needed to be read between the lines and he had a 15 minute speech at the end about this crap!

What does a clip of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" have to do in any way, metaphorically or otherwise with the Obama administration? What does Stephen Colbert copying Bill O'Reilly's "Muslim's attacked us on 9/11!" line have to do, again, symbolically or otherwise with Obama? Only reason it's during the Obama administration is because that's when the tea party has reared its ugly head.

You're wrong, maybe you need some reading comprehension classes.

12. The tea party would agree with you and Jon that sanity needed to be restored during the Obama admin.
Try reading comprehension sometime. The point is he was punking the Obama Admin and Democratic leadership in Washington.

18. Then read this
It was about what it was about: Irrational-seeming, angry people carrying on and hogging the spotlight, on TV, on the news, the media giving attention only to them and how they, in Jon's opinion totally destroy any possible chance of having reasonable discussions about the issues.

It was an OBVIOUS diss of Glenn Beck's rally with a totally opposite meaning (except in the case of Stephen Colbert who had the same message as Beck).
