On the one hand, Republicans scream that Obama has done too much with his 'radical socialist agenda.' On the other hand, a Gallup poll just came out showing that, despite the fact that the 111th Democratic Congress has passed more important pieces of legislation than any other congress in recent history, most Americans perceive that this congress has done 'less than usual.' With the biggest gap between perception and reality being between the ears of Republican supporters, 53% of whom believe the 111th congress has done less than usual.

Second most interesting disconnect: While Obama CUT taxes for most people, an overwhelming majority of the teabaggers have the false perception that taxes have gone up under the Obama Administration/ 111th Congress. Which begs the question: why worry about appeasing Republicans with regards to letting the Bush tax cuts expire, when they'll attack you for raising taxes even when you LOWER them?
Lesson: If you're going to be damned if you do and damned if you don't, YOU MIGHT AS WELL DO!
Observation: The more faulty your perceptual apparatus is, and the less likely you are to perceive reality as it is, the more likely you are to be a Republican these days. In other words, the dumber you are, the more likely you are to support the GOP.
Conclusion: With a direct correlation between stupidity and the tendency to vote Republican, is it any wonder the GOP wants to abolish the Department of Education?
