Insani-Tea on Parade - WTF quotes from the Iowa Anti-Judge Rally
Anti-judge bus tour dwarfed by pro-retention rally
Eastern Iowa rally to retain Supreme Court justices the largest thus far
http://iowaindependent.com/46337/anti-judge-bus-tour-dwarfed-by-pro-retention-rally villainy

“I think that if we can’t defend marriage, that it becomes very hard to defend life,” (Rep Steve) King said. “Marriage is the crucible by which we pour all of our values and pass them on to our children, and that is how the culture is renewed each time. So, if we lose marriage — for instance, if our children are raised in warehouses, so to speak. There have been civilizations that have tried to do that. The Spartans did that. They took the children away and taught them to be warriors. It’s a good way to defend a country, but not much of a way to run a civilization.

“So, I’m afraid if that happened — if we lose the marriage, we lose the home, we lose the nuclear family then we can’t teach our values. We won’t be able to teach our faith. We won’t be able to teach life. We won’t be able to teach our Constitutional values either. That’s why I’m afraid it’s going to be very, very difficult to defend life.”

snip

(Randy Crawford of Iowa City) “My primary reason for being here is because I believe the Supreme Court should not be legislating from the bench. But I also believe that homosexuality is bad thing,” he said. “It used to be useful when we were cavemen and we needed people to guard the caves full of women and children. If I’m a guy out hunting, I want to leave someone back at the cave tending to my wife and kids, and I don’t want a normal guy having that kind of access to my wife and kids. So, in our evolution, you can see that there use to be a utility for homosexuality, but that was when we were cavemen and we aren’t cavemen anymore. So, homosexuality is obsolete.”

snip

(Randy Crawford of Iowa City again) “If people want to behave like the homosexuals I knew in high school, college and so-forth then it isn’t a problem,” he said. “But you can see what happens when homosexuals get power — like in Iowa City. They are running rampant. They are doing vicious stuff. … Read Shakespeare’s Othello. Basically the homosexuals are like the Iago figure.”

The stoopid hurts! I really try not to denigrate people who think differently than me but when they are so illogical, irrational and just plain willfully ignorant I have no choice but to call stupid stupid.

1. Steve King could probably make a case for Armageddon over my eating ice cream for breakfast.
The list of things he believes could end our civilization is likely lengthy.

2. I have not laughed so hard after I read what Randy Crawford

had to say. What king said no sense at all.
At least Crawford gives gays some credit.

took this from the comments:
The stupidity of the cavemen wet-dream of his is so overwhelming that it almost masks his bigotry.

What, homosexual cavemen were not good enough to be hunters but more than strong enough to be protecting their women-folk from other heterosexual men?

Heck, these *are* the men we want serving in the military then

7. what cracks me up is that all these RW guys think that they are the
epitome of what the gays would desire and that the gays would have no control over themselves when the RW shows up.

Most of the time, the RWers would probably be so undesirable that he would turn a gay guy off men ...

3. Will someone tell these asshats that "marriage" is defined differently by every culture?
There are some hunter/gatherer cultures (which still exist) that consider a couple "married" if they place their hammocks in the same hut. If one of them moves their hammock out, they are no longer married.

If we want to redefine our definition of marriage to include same-sex couples, how is that even a major change, much less universal fucking armageddon?

5. if they want to use old testament to condemn marriage equality then they are supporting polygamy
all those ancient dudes had many wives and concubines.

additionally since each religious sect says they are the One Truth Faith(TM) doesn't that mean only those married in their churches by their clergy are really married? Doesn't this mean that they should be fighting to make only their sect's marriages legal and those married outside of their faith illegal?

9. it must be scary for him walking around wondering who is gay
plotting their gay agenda of world domination or whatever the heck the twit thinks lgbt people are up too. good gawd the power he gives them that they will spontaneous put an end to hetero marriages, cause abortions, create spartan child warehouses... seriously this guy needs to be more careful what he is ingesting or seek help with a psychiatrist. I say this seriously as a person with mental illness. makes me thankful I realize my anxieties are not reality based so I got help and are working on 'em.

10. My jaw hit the floor
There are actually people who think cavemen assigned gays to guard caves of wives?

There are so many things wrong with that thought, I guess I could just start by saying every single goddamn word out of that man's mouth is just incorrect.
