Department of WTF: Barney Frank's "Tight Race."
Edited on Thu Oct-28-10 02:51 PM by Demoiselle
Reuters says that Barney is in a struggle to win. Then Reuters says that he's got a 12 point lead over his rival. (49 to 37.)
HUH?
I know he's won by as much as 68 percent of the vote in the past....but...hey, what's so frightening about a 12 point lead?

4. The drama is useful. It reminds people that they need to go and vote.

3. He usually wins by 40, so the race is tight by MA standards and it makes good media to
create drama. Except for the two or 3 House races that are uncontested or with token opposition, all races are tighter as usual.

5. Plausible deniability.
If they post stories saying both, then when someone says "You lied!" they can say "No, we were right, look!" and post the other story. Kind of like Ronald Reagan used to do.

(You know what's better about Reagan now than Reagan when he was in office? Now he can only lie underground).
