WSJ - Karl Rove - "Signs of the Democratic Apocalypse" - "Democrats will receive a crushing rebuke"
We have Latinos for Reform who are attacking Harry Reid from the left and asking Hispanic voters not to vote Democratic due to their failure to pass immigration reform. We have the Log Cabin Republicans attacking President Obama on DADT while giving Republicans a free pass. Now, we have Karl Rove laughing his ass off an measuring the drapes, as he funnels charitable corporate contributions to support Republican races throughout the country.

Of course, even the so-called Latinos for Reform, is an astroturf group designed to erode Democratic support on the left, while Rove's groups attack from the right. In a post Citizens United world, will progressives give up or fight?

###

Next Tuesday Democrats will receive a crushing rebuke. More to the point, voters will be delivering a verdict on the first two years of the Obama administration.

Midterm elections are almost always unpleasant experiences for the White House, especially when the economy is weak. But key races that should have been safe for the party in power demonstrate the extent to which President Obama and his policies have nationalized the election.

In Nevada, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has a huge war chest in a state Mr. Obama won in 2008 by 12 points. Mr. Reid trails Sharron Angle by four points in the latest Rasmussen poll.

* * *
In recent days, Mr. Obama screamed defiantly to Democratic rallies that Republicans have to "sit in the back," and he told a Latino radio audience that it's time to "punish our enemies and . . . reward our friends." That may be the president's idea of how to appeal to Americans' better instincts. Next Tuesday night we'll see how badly wrong he is.

2. "Rebuke" Nice dog-whistle
When have you heard "rebuke" used outside of Biblical quotations?

3. They are going to deliver a verdict on the circus that you helped
create Mr. Rove.

Its too bad that you find it necessary to mis-inform people and stoke fear and division instead of running your candidates on their record and realistic policy positions.

4. Well, Mr Rove has an interest in the outcome, does he not?
And his history is Gingrich-like in it's severe adherence to self-interest and self-aggrandizement.

6. It's Rove's job to call any republican gain
"a crushing rebuke", that's what he gets paid (under the table) the big bucks for. Obama will probably lose less seats than other modern presidents have in an off year election, but Rove and cohorts will still call it "a crushing rebuke" and the rest of the media will follow.

12. Remember Rove's permanent Republican majority
That worked out just as he predicted...not. All the GOP has
going for them is ignorance, a dumbed down media and a pliant
Supreme Court and a shitty economy.

15. This is Rove telling us all he'll be stealing votes...
Edited on Wed Oct-27-10 10:00 PM by CoffeeCat
Rove is always so damn sure of himself, especially when he's got
tons of dirty, classless, underhanded tricks dripping from his
pudgy, Cheeto-dust-stained fingers.

He figured out a way to funnel millions in cash from overseas, to Republicans--and now he's letting us know that
he's also got the voting machines.

The only way these loser pukes can win is if they lie, cheat, steal and play dirty tricks. That alone
should humble that large bag of mud that Rove is. But I'm sure it won't.

18. As opposed to 8 years
of Republican Bush II Apocalypse in which we suffered the 9/11 terrorist attack, the daily rape of the Constitution, imperialistic overseas wars which squandered the lives of our young soldiers and drained the Treasury, and the almost complete destruction of our economy (among other ills and evils).
