I'm watching Rachel Maddow's great interview with Harry Reid.

I have to say, his head is seriously in the sand.

He thinks that the Republicans were just obstructing and posturing for this mid-term election. He said he had recently spoken with Mitch McConnell and Harry actually believes that McConnell and the Republicants will be willing to work with the Democrats to pass legislation (such as immigration reform). He even sounded like he believed get-off-my-lawn McCain would do another aboutface and re-dedicate himself to immigration reform.

I'm starting to understand why Nevadans say they had two poor choices for Senate in this election. That said, Angle is bat$hit crazy and even if one isn't thrilled with Reid, he's a thousand times better than Angle.

1. It's an old, tired game...
and I wish that we'd get some people into government who could actually do some good.

2. What, pray tell, should he say without ostracizing the folks
who already don't like him?

3. What would you rather him say?
Oh, I'm not going to even try to work with Republicans, even though nothing will get done. Ignore the fact that stating this will lose me votes before a critical election.

7. I'd rather him talk about his record in Nevada and what he planned to do if re-elected.
I think what surprised me the most is that he seemed to actually believe Republicans would be willing to work with him. They aren't. Rachel had to point out comments made that basically stated the #1 Republican goal was ensuring that the President only served for one term.

10. This is the same Mitch McConnell who said
"The single most important thing we want to achieve is
for President Obama to be a one-term president." earlier
this week. It would have been so easy for him to
diplomatically work McConnell's statement into his response by
saying he would prefer to work with McConnell but not
when......

Nice cut-and-paste and welcome to DU. You can't blame Harry for who he's forced to deal with.

6. He misspoke, he actually means he
will work with the Republicants (really like that term) to pass legislation. Someone need to help them with their obstructing and posturing.

13. From the looks of it, unless "none of the above candidates" pulls off a coup
The only way Harry's going to be "working with" McConnell is as a lobbyist- just like his predecessor.

It's something which is politically advantageous to say for the majority of voters who expect them to work together.

"If Nevada and other States send these nutball Teabaggers like Sharon Angle to Washington, there will be othing accomplished, total stagnation. I and other Democrats will not work with them period!"
