Very interesting documentary. Hoover saved millions of starving Belgians during WW1,and again acted quickly in the Mississippi floods of 1927. His downfall as President was his belief that government should not give money directly to people in trouble. Bonus veterans marched on Washington, and he refused to help them. He thought private charities and big projects alone could help at the height of the depression.
He won his presidency by largest landslide ever, then lost it by the largest landslide ever just 4 years later.

3. that i have never heard about. but these people want to go back to the
good old days. what's that.... back during the depression when no one had anything, not even social security or programs for the poor!!! and veterans who risked their lives were treated like this!! it's just awful. i have been thinking about writing something about how our parents and grandparents fought to get us where we are today.... risked their lives and we just throw it all away so easily!

4. There were a few names that would later get famous.
The infantry and cavalry were supported by six tanks, and commanded by Army Chief of Staff General Douglas MacArthur. Major, later President, Dwight D. Eisenhower was his liaison with Washington police, and Major George Patton led the cavalry.
