Why is Angle even close to being able to win?
It is clear to even the modestly informed of what Angle stands for and how unqualified she is to be in any elected office, so why is she even close? Well, I don't live in Nv. but here is my thoughts, she is benefitting from an opponent who has been so weak that if he had a real opponent he would be a landslide loser. Sadly, Harry doesn't even seem to want to show some degree of toughness to put away this lightweight, brainless candidate, but would rather continue to be the fence sitter. I want Harry to win simply because Angle would be a disaster, but damn I sure wish Harry would act like a Democrat enough to end this.

1. Two words: "FUCKING MORONS"
They're out there. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Or is that too "Republican" a thing to say?

3. national campaign waged by republicans against our Senate Democratic Leader
She's evaporated her financial edge, but she still has outside republican money to fuel the campaign against Sen. Reid.

4. My theory is, majority leaders are vulnerable just by being majority leaders,
regardless of their personal campaign skills or record--they are simply a big fat juicy target. In fact, anyone who's been around longer than a couple terms in the Senate is vulnerable--it's more anti-incumbent than anything else.

7. Only if their Democrats....
...I can't remember the last time a sitting Republican congressional leader was defeated at an election.

11. Agreed
Legislatures have dismal approval numbers all over the nation. It's just not easy to like a legislative body as a whole, despite the fact that it is easy to like one's individual representatives. They frequently serve as scapegoats (often deservedly so) for anything and everything wrong with the government. Plus Harry in particular has never been a darling of the left (I've never heard a progressive say a nice word about him) so he doesn't have a rock-solid base of ideological support he can rely on. I imagine a lot of Nevada voters care little for either candidate so the current anti-incumbency chic is making a big difference. Though Angle's nutty as all getup, she doesn't have to own Congress' negative numbers.

6. Because....
....Nevada is a heavily-rural state which like many other Western states (non-Pacific Coast) have a distrust of the federal gov't. Harry Reid has been a leader in advancing a left-of-center agenda on the national level and conservatives in Nevada have been able to paint him as a Washington insider who's out of touch with the concerns of many Nevadans. The problem is, Angle is so out of touch with REALITY that Reid still has a chance to pull this one out....God-willing, he will.

10. I wish it were just about Reid, but there are dozens of races like this.
With even stronger candidates than Reid on our side & Angle-equivalent levels of batshitedness on their side.

15. Because our party is too stupid to stop riding lame horses. Anybody but Harry would be laying the
lumber on the lady who made the one who advised the bartering of livestock for health care look wise, smart, and reasonable but we stick with DOA incumbents that we know are widely despised across the political spectrum.
