Food Trucks Continue to Draw Large Crowds
Food festivals are using gourmet food trucks as their featured headliners.

Communities across the country may have found another revenue generating operation that could provide a much desired service for their citizens, a boost to their local economy and help to small businesses in the food truck industry. One such event took place in Southern California this weekend.

I am curious if any of you SoCal readers were able to check out this fest. I understand the crowd was great. What did you have time to eat?

2. I'd say so
As the word gets out and more people learn what these trucks provide, you can bet these types of gatherings will keep growing.

3. I didn't go, but we have one of these in Downtown LA every year
and it's a madhouse. You have to pay to get in and then HOPE that the places you want to eat at still have food left. The food truck scene in LA is great and, even better, UCLA is doing construction on one of the on-campus food courts so, in the meantime, they are allowing food trucks to come on campus. It's heaven. In addition to Nom Nom and Grill Em All (the winner and runner up on Food Network's Great Food Truck Race), they have the Grilled Cheese Truck (grilled brie, please!), The Flying Pig, Border Grill, etc etc etc.

4. I so have to get back out there
It's been about a year since I've been in SoCal. Being in Chicago where we have no fresh food trucks makes me want to come back there for a weekend visit for sure.

9. Bar time is a great time to sell food
Drunks have a tendency to have somewhat deadened taste buds, so even a bad cart seems to sell good food. :)
