COMEY: "I went to the Oval Office -- as I did every morning as acting Attorney General"
So the WH didn't know Comey was the acting AG? Then how do they explain Comey's testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee?:

SCHUMER: OK. Anything else of significance relevant to this line of questioning occur on Thursday the 11th, that you can recall?

COMEY: No, not that I recall.

SCHUMER: Thank you. Now, let's go to the next day, which was March 12. Can you tell us what happened then?

COMEY: I went to the Oval Office -- as I did every morning as acting attorney general -- with Director Mueller to brief the president and the vice president on what was going on on Justice Department's counterterrorism work. We had the briefing. And as I was leaving, the president asked to speak to me, took me in his study and we had a one-on-one meeting for about 15 minutes -- again, which I will not go into the substance of. It was a very full exchange. And at the end of that meeting, at my urging, he met with Director Mueller, who was waiting for me downstairs. He met with Director Mueller again privately, just the two of them. And then after those two sessions, we had his direction to do the right thing, to do what we...

3. I do not think Bush and Co is on the same train as we are.
Bush has his own country and is running it how he likes. It is not what the Constitution keeps saying but that seem to be our of our hands. And to think he talks to God every day. My But that makes me think we do not have God on our side. I am sure he would be doing better for the 'greatest country' in the world. Any right wing nuts trying to figure out why nothing is working if God is so with this man in the WH? None seem to be speaking up of late.

4. If Busholini called Mrs. Ashcroft to get her permission
for Andrew Card and Gonzo to visit Mr. Ashcroft it is a conspiracy of three to commit fraud. The plan was to get Mr. Ashcroft to sign off on an Illegal Spying Program. Comey, the acting AG had refused to do so. To now say that Busholini and the others didn't know that he was the acting AG is an outright lie.

Congress now needs to call Mrs. Ashcroft, Mr. Ashcroft, FBI Dir. Mueller, Andrew Card and Gonzo to testify Under Oath regarding this matter.

11. Sounds like your right but who would do it? DOJ?
By now I am sure Bush has signed a statement saying he can do all these things. What other President has got away with this stuff? No one is going to do a thing to Bush. I am not sure why but I think it may be some thing in what the GOP did to Clinton. The GOP have sort of tainted even that street to take. Makes taking a President down seem petty.

5. MOST people have still not even heard OF his testimony..
nevermind having listened to any of it. With the exception of Keith O. there has been a near complete blackout.

the Attourney General was is such an insult to our collective intelligence that I think they deserve impeachment on that point alone.

Anyone who was wondering if the Bush Administration is full of fools or crooks surely has their answer now. No one could be as stupid as they claim to be.

9. My God, these people lie out of pure habit
This is one of the stupidest, most transparent lies I've heard of...and I've heard lots from this administration. And they say it with a straight face! (Except Chimpy, who smirks as usual).

God, I hate these people...ALL of them in this mis-administration.

10. Congress needs to pin down how many Felonies
Busholini committed during those "few weeks" that he went ahead with the Illegal Spying Program without Warrants via NSA.

12. It wasn't just those few weeks
Bush put this program into motion shortly after 911...I've seen a few articles state he actually put it in place before 911. Comey & Ashcroft wouldn't RENEW it in 2004. And according to Tice at the NSA & a FBI whistleblower, the program was still going strong in 2005. I would bet money it's STILL in full swing.

This is the aftermath, the beginning of the staged coverup, as I read the entire affair.

What I'm about to say is certainly not a "fact" but worth considering.

I think * knew he'd screwed up, that he had to massage Comey, and that he needed the old
Washington elixir, "plausible deniability." So what better way than say "do the right thing."
You think he'd be specific, he's the president, has all this great advise but it's just a
sham meeting, a little kabuki, if I'm reading it right. Who knows but it's certainly a
vulgar counterpoint to * sending Card and Gonzo to "take advantage of a very sick man."

BTW, your point on a thread I posted was correct a couple weeks ago. I've been off since shortly
after that, just poking in, and looked at it again. Ah, the excitement of that story, and the let
down when ABC wouldn't come through.
