Prior to these last 8 months, the 3+ killed per day was reached only in response to Fallujah 1 and 2 (Apr04, Nov04) and the Early 2005 Sadr confrontation. That is a very, very bad indicator.

I'm certain Newt Gingrich, Hume and FAUX will spin this in an attempt to claim the democratic victory in November is "emboldening" the insurgency.

Just something for everyone to watch for...

This is not to exclude the thousands of Iraqis who have perished in that time span.
