Day One: At home testing and training begins.
Good day all. I've been out in the trailer most of the midday sort of free typing into Notepad++ (I love this little program). My thought is that the dog needs some conditioning to being in there and by being in the trailer with him, it begins to set up a smell for him that will help him stay calm when he may have to reside there for a couple of hours alone from time to time.

Since I was in there and all, I curled up on the corner of the bed with the laptop and just typed away, some descriptive passages resembling an inventory of what is and what needs to be. Then getting distracted by the issues and problems, some resolved, some yet to be addressed. Putting in a little history as it seems required to make sense of anything. Yep, just all over the place. Now is the time though because once I start this, between recording, editing, posting, and youtubing, I'll be too busy to ramble much about generalities about my set up and myself.

I was in there for about 3 hours, typing nearly constantly so it's gotten way too long for a journal entry, since journal entries have to become a forum post of some sort. I guess I better find a place to blog.

So I'm back inside for a few minutes. I'll have to pop down to the hardware store to get some means to resolve a few safety issues living in a utility trailer that has all locking devices on the outside. And some way to keep the drawers from opening while heading down the road, not good for those drawer glides to be bounced around full of weight and extended.

I have to finish this brief update by saying, I'm stunned at the response to this. I mentioned it once before and got like 10 comments and 5 recs. Thank you, it has me even more terrified but it will definitely keep me more motivated to continue in the face of the sadness, setbacks, and screw-ups that are bound to happen.

Hardware store here I come, I love my hardware store, and they love me. We have tackled and solved some unique challenges that my set up has presented over the past few years. My local Ace Hardware ROCKS!

1. Fellow trailer-critter here ...
I have lived in a small travel-trailer for about four years, off and on.

2. Just leave an open ended future in your plans

Remember you can make choices at every turn in this journey. Allow the possibility of failure to be one of those choices. This will set you free from feeling you have to follow a pre-set agenda.

Never forget that failure leads to success much more often than fear of failure does.

You and your dog (what's his/her name?) will be fine.

I really envy you. Maybe I can do something like this someday soon.

Boxes can be cozy.

4. He's a tad too big for a box, he's 120# or so I think. There's
an entire captain's bed for him to lay on and I've put his blanket from his in-home bed on top, so it already smells somewhat homey for him. I mean it was washed last week, but to a dog a week produces some smell I would think. I won't wash it this weekend.

5. I don't think they will fit in the box much longer
I was kidding you. And it is an excuse to post my cute picture. :hi:
