Doc groups helping their own (repugs)

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1010/43210.html

A slate of Republican doctors seeking House seats is benefiting from a group of deep-pocketed medical groups that are funneling thousands of dollars to their campaigns and providing support on the airwaves.

Organizations like the American College of Surgeons Professional Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Congress of OB-GYNs are putting their respective political action committees to work for Republican contenders and medical professionals like Larry Bucshon of Indiana, Nan Hayworth of New York and Joe Heck of Nevada.

The goal behind the giving, say those involved with the fundraising effort, is simple: to establish relationships who are most likely to land on key, health-related House committees that will have the biggest impact on the industry.

(industry is the key word here)

“They are giving to Republican physicians because they are in the best position to get those committees,” said one Washington-based GOP fundraiser.

In August, the American Dental Association spent more than $2,000 on a mail piece in support of Arizona Republican Paul Gosar, a dentist, saying that Gosar will “fight to repeal Obamacare.”

(as if dentists don't make enough money)

I wouldn't trust or go to any of these kinds of doctors

what is their trip anyway? can someone clue me in?

3. Healthcare Ala Cart?
They would love to cherry pick their patients. They may start with the ones having ample cash or perhaps a condition that won't turn sour. Perhaps only cover those in their very own country club or other "group". Certainly not have any patients that would require paperwork like anyone having insurance challenges, forcing them to prescribe generics or those seniors who have poor health, limited funds and require constant care. They need that time to get on with other projects in their life. These kind of doctors do not want to make medicine their life but rather a profitable side line.
