AOL Poll: Are you satisfied w/ America? 82% said "NO".
Are you satisfied with America right now?
No 82%
Yes 18%
Total Votes: 114,299
Note on Poll Results

114,299 is a LOT of people to take a poll with. And these are the ones that use AOL... normally very right leaning.

Hmmm.

2. We should never be satisfied
But...the question is ambiguous. The Bushies would say they are unsatisfied because Dear Leader hasn't been made Emperor yet. Or Chimperor...

4. Good point.
Satisfaction can easily lead to complacency and dropping guard. Even once we're past this abominable administration we shouldn't let ourselves be satisfied.

3. "Can't get no Satisfaction." We want more! Isn't that the point of America?
The RWers want more money. We want more freedom. It's a little sarcastic, but Americans will never be satisfied. Even the rich. They won't be satisfied until the poor are paying them taxes.

5. Where do people get the idea that AOL leans right?
I used it as my ISP/browser for 13 years before I finally got smart, and I still check it periodically to see which way the wind is blowing and to mess with the asshats on the political boards.

AOL users typically follow national trends. There're a lot fewer asshats now than there were a year ago and there were fewer then than a year before that.

I'd wait on this poll, too. If a partisan AOL poll has good visibility, it'll typically get upward of 200,000 responses.

6. You're correct about that...there are fewer asshats than there were
before. I don't have a "link" to it, because it just goes to my own AOL (account) page. But the article was on the "welcome" screen when I signed in. I just thought it was pretty interesting. They mentioned that it was the highest "unsatisfied" rate since right before poppy bush was voted out.

7. Today's AOL polls
run pretty much in the center but occasionally they surprise and go far left or far right. In the past year they have become very anti-Chimpy which makes sense considering that most centrists have finally come to the face the reality that he is an arrogant idiot. Surprisingly they are also very anti-Gore. He does not do well in any poll in which he is included and this includes those involving global warming. These polls also become established after about 5000 votes and never change much after this point. I watch them every day and am amazed at how consistent they have become.
