"STOP HILLARY NOW!!"
I just saw this billboard with Hannity's face and those words emblazoned on it.

I've GOT to get the fuck out of this ass backwards state. :puke:

1. Not sure where you are but I will give you a warning and this is DON'T
EVEN THINK OF COMING HERE. This is the black hole of politics. We have two senators, both are republican bush** ass kissers. But one runs as a Dem. And he brags about supporting the bush** administration while running for re-election.

It don't get much dumber than that.

Kudos to her - and I'm shocked and gladdened that a (presumably) mostly white jury acquitted her.

11. There's no question about it, Willy ... the SFBay Area reigns supreme, imho.
As I've said many times, I've lived all over the country and traveled as a part of my career ... and nothing is as good as the Bay Area. The people, geography, climate, and politics are superb and cover the whole spectrum. It's NOT a liberal "Pleasantville" (Pleasanton, maybe) - it's everyting in balance. Love it! (No wonder people are willing to pay the price.)

17. On a clear day, maybe. (I suffer from SAD in SEA/PDX.)
I have to admit being thankful for my eyesight on one of those clear, sunny days over Puget Sound. Awesome. I've driven the Gorge on days that should have been National Geographic photo layouts. Stunning. And there've been times that the Willamette Valley seemed almost like Camelot ... serene and spiritual with a feel that's impossible to describe.

13. If Only It Wasn't So Horrendously Difficult to Learn Another Language
Edited on Sun May-20-07 02:42 PM by AndyTiedye
The language barrier is the real problem here (except for London).

I guess some people can pick up another language easily,
but for some of us is it excruciatingly difficult and time-consuming.

They speak English in London, of course, but the UK seems to have
caught the same disease the US has, and if the Tories come back
it will only get worse.

18. Well, languages are fairly easy
for me to acquire. I can learn to get around fairly quickly. Plus I need to dust off my conversational French and German. It's not that I'm a great social butterfly so much as I'm a really good listener and I pay attention when people speak to me. :-)

16. I'd much rather live there than California.
I never had much desire to even visit the other end of the country. I'm an East-coaster for sure.

Now, New York, I'd do, but not California, much to the chagrin of my husband who has family out there.

20. Oh, I'd visit the West
and even think I'd enjoy it.

My particular bent is that I find European big cities to be much more humane and livable than American ones. The pace of life is sill on a human scale. Shopkeepers expect you to greet them. People will generally speak to you in a cafe, on a train, on the street, and they walk down the street; they don't run. The noise level is doable. Mass transit exists, is clean, quick, and efficient... and afforadable.

43. Mass transit had BETTER be quick and affordable!
With gas at $7 a gallon, we prefer not to use cars if we don't have to!
And rent and food in the big cities will floor you when you convert the
prices into US dollars. Be prepared for massive sticker shock, and bring
an umbrella.

On the other hand, cities and small towns are VERY livable for the most part,
distances are very manageable, and the pace of life is definitely easy to
adjust to. Ya just gotta know what you want.

I married a European woman and got myself appointed Station Chief for Europe,
so it's not like I have much of a choice unless I want to return permanently
to the USA and get a desk job (they'll return me either retired or in a wooden
box before I take a desk job).

And....you MUST learn the language. But--don't despair. Europeans are very
used to people from neighboring countries coming by all the time knowing only
a smattering of the local language, and help out. You can pick up a local
language far more easily than you think (unless it's Finnish or Hungarian,
in which case my last staement is "inoperative").

I'm just saying, this has to one of the most anti-Hillary sites on the web.

I want Gore, but he's not going to run.
The more anti-Hillary retoric I see the more I'm convinced I should support her.

22. Probably the most ass-backwards place is Mississippi
Both our governor (Haley Barbour...who is like THIS with Bush and some people say (lol channeling Fox here) that he's gonna be on the 08 Republican ticket as VP) and our Lt. Governor are Republicans and the democrats around here are practically required to be uber social conservatives (i.e. anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, etc). The only thing that differenciates the dems from the republicans is that the dems support funding for public education and the tobacco tax pretty much.

And, of course, we lay claim to the infamous Trent Lott, Thad Cocheran and Chip Pickering.

Gene Taylor and Bennie Thompson (our two democratic US reps) are okay though. It's a miracle that Taylor was elected down on the gulf coast (a VERY republican area)

23. Just paint out "Stop" .
And I always wonder why DU is so anti-Hillary, especially about her attempts to work with mega corporations. To me, Hillary is like Van Helsing. She goes into the mega corps, attempting to change them at the highest level, just like Van Helsing went into Dracula's lair to hunt vampyres. Just my opinion.
