4. I voted myspace...
I use it more. It's important to me socially. Youtube is vital, without a doubt, but myspace just happens to be more important to me.

6. MySpace
Because given the choice between watching videos of scantily-clad underage cuties and actually stalking them, my choice is clear.

8. Definitely YouTube
It's such a fun site and when you don't always have the time to watch tv it's great to be able to see the things you would have watched!

Never go near MySpace. Way too many security issues and I just can't afford to mess up my computer which I use for work. My laptop got a really bad infection there when someone who was using it went there. And it is owned by NewsCorp!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MySpace

Security
In October 2005, a flaw in the MySpace's site design was exploited by a user only known as "Samy" to create the world's first self-propagating cross-site scripting (XSS) worm. MSNBC has also reported that MySpace is a "hotbed" for spyware, and that infection rates are rising because of MySpace.<23> In addition to this, the customisation of user pages currently allows the injection of certain HTML which can be crafted to form a phishing user profile, thus keeping the myspace.com domain as the address.<24> More recently, there has been spam on bulletins that has been the result of phishing.<25> Users find their MySpace homepage with bulletins they didn't post, realising later they had been phished. The bulletin consists of an advertisement that provides a link to a fake login screen, tricking people into typing in their MySpace e-mail and password.

Other security fears regarding profile content itself are also present. For example, the embedding of videos inherently allows all of the format's abilities and functions to be used on a page. A prime example of this surfaced in December 2006, when embedded QuickTime videos were shown to contain hyperlinks to JavaScript files, which would be run simply by a user visiting an 'infected' profile page, or even in some cases by simply viewing a user's 'about me' elsewhere on the site. Users who entered their login information into a fake login bar that appeared would then become 'infected', and their account would be used to spam other members, thus spreading the infection.<26>

In April 2007, a house in the UK was wrecked by gatecrashers storming a party after reading an invite for it on MySpace. The party caused an estimated £20,000 worth of damage, forcing the family to move out after graffiti was sprayed on walls and light fixtures were ripped out. Rachel Bell, the organizer of the party, claimed that her account was hacked and she only expected a small number of people to turn up. The resulting situation required several police cars and a dog-handling unit in order to restore peace.<27>

Cluttered,messy,text all over the place.

Honestly,it's about the only site I've ever seen that makes FreeRepublic look elegant in it's design.

20. Why? I have dial up too and go to You Tube all the time.
Edited on Sun May-20-07 07:16 AM by Breeze54
When you go to You Tube (using Dial up) let the video begin to load
(so you see a picture) and then hit the pause button. It will still
keep downloading while you do other things! Easy! ;)

I go to hear my son's bands new music (and old) and
there are political groups there and discussion forums. ;)

19. Hard to pick but I chose You Tube
only because I can view politically current video's there faster. That's it.
I like My Space for the wide choices of new, alternative music, new bands and new sounds.
They also have large political discussion groups. It's an easy way to get a message out
to a lot of people. The only drawback is that it's owned by Murdoch and he's scum.

28. Neither.
I've yet to figure out the point of MySpace. I have one, which I've done nothing with, because a friend set up a "myspace" page for a particular group. It was never used. I've never used mine. I browsed around, and thought, "If I want to know someone's thoughts or opinions, I'll just ask them. I don't need to read their journal." "Why do I need to know who their friends are? If they are my friend, I already know. If not, why do I care?"

Youtube? I find it incredibly irritating. I like to communicate with language, not pictures. I prefer books to video, email to phone. I can read an idea or thought so much faster than I can watch it on youtube. I don't want to click on the videos. Just tell me what you want me to know. I'd rather read a transcript. I don't make a good captive audience.

32. YouTube for me.
I only got a MySpace account (that I very rarely even login to) so I could hear my brother's band's latest songs while I was away at school. YouTube, on the other hand...good stuff. (Well, some of it. There's a lot of crap there, I'm sure, but I think there's enough good stuff to make it worthwhile...maybe?)

33. YouTube for sure..
I enjoy some of the concert videos I find on YouTube..

Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Beck playing "Going Down", found that one the other day and downloaded it to hard drive and then converted it so my wife can watch on her Blackberry Pearl. Talk about guitar heaven.

Elton John doing "Crocodile Rock" on the Muppets show.. Hilarious.

And then there is Sir Elton performing "Candle in the Wind" at Princess Diana's funeral. Very moving.

Never even been to MySpace.
