MEDICARE FOR ALL
email it around
post up the net
chat up the cashier at Publix and give her the button off my shirt
hand off a car sticker to a guy in the hospital parking lot
leave stickies around town
pester the crap out the politician's staff.
push to get an audience with the politicians while they are home "politicking" (oh Saxby!)
have a pleasant 10 min chat with the TV news editor this time instead of ending up in his voice mail (again)
flash around my car sticker
flash around my shirt button
be an incredibly polite pain in the ass to those who block the road
be another voice of support to those who can further the cause.
whichever way presents itself every day.

Every day. Every day every day. Until we have it or I die.

1. Then the doctors will refuse to take Medicare patients.

2. So they can be unemployed then
The 'for all' part means they either take it or go out of business.

3. Then they'll be out of business, unless they want to treat only millionaires or assholes. nt

Docs in CIVILIZED countries, where they have single payer now, actually DO treat patients.

Geesh.

4. Then they won't have a helluva lot of choice.
Except to lobby for higher medicare payment schedules.

I don't see a lot of reports of Canadian docs starving or fighting to get across the border to practice in our wonderful system.

Anyway, if you shear off the huge insurance-fighting apparatus our clinics all need to get paid, and cut out the special deals negotiated by big insurance companies (who don't pass the benefits on to their insurees), and just in general don't have to pay the insurance companies their protection money, there will be enough savings so that everyone but the parasites will be happy.

Great quote of
"I don't see a lot of reports of Canadian docs starving or fighting to get across the border to practice in our wonderful system."

Again, if our fragmented, extremely expensive, no-right-to-health-care type of health care system is so superior to other countries, why is no one rushing to emulate it?

Each day, 273 people die due to lack of health care in the U.S.; that's 100,000 deaths per year.

We need single-payer health care, not a welfare bailout for the serial-killer insurance agencies.

We don't need the GingrichCare of mandated, unregulated, for-profit insurance that is still too expensive, only pays parts of medical bills, denies claims, bankrupts and kills people. Republinazi '93 plan:
"Subtitle F: Universal Coverage - Requires each citizen or lawful permanent resident to be covered under a qualified health plan or equivalent health care program by January 1, 2005."

"We will never have real reform until people's health stops being treated as a financial opportunity for corporations."

7. $10.20 of my last meager pay check went to Medicare...
I don't collect Medicare... I can't until I'm 65. Why are they taking this out of my check each week? They are going discontinue Medicare... I want my money back!!!
