Christine O'Donnell had a sweet little gig going along.. collecting enough money in her "foundation" to support herself..and readily supplemented her income with speaking engagements & punditry

That goofball running against Cuomo has a closet-full of skeletons & a hair-trigger Soprano-esque temper, but few people knew of the skeletons..

Nutmeg has a proclivity to hire undocumented workers while she rails about immigration issues, yet as ebay-woman no one cared who did her dishes or took her kids to school..

Each of these three (and there are many more) had a pretty decent life, yet they all decided to "shoot the moon"..knowing full-well that "the queen of spades" was always in play...

All that any of them had to do was, be happy with what they had, and to not overreach.

Did they really think they would skate?
