Lawrence O'Donnell made a point the other day I believe needs addressing.
He mentioned that most Districts are all but sewed up. Everyone knows the outcomes in those districts. It is in the swing districts that things are up in the air. Republicans are devoting a tremendous amount of resources in those districts. Why aren't the Democrats? I heard O'Donnell say that most in those districts were unhappy with Democrat accomplishments. Why are we not saturating the airwaves in those places? Places that normally vote Republican but went for Democrats in '08.. We need to sell ourselves there and not so much in Democratic strongholds...We don't need to be preaching to the choir, we need to convince those other folks we are doing what is right for America...Or not...
as we are democrats our leadership is more open and less concentrated. As such, we seem to have a harder time making decisions as a party. OTOH Republicans are authoritarian and hierarchical. Therefore quick decisions and change of policy is much more easily done.
