Harry Reid needs to be replaced as Dem Senate leader
Edited on Mon Sep-27-10 09:24 PM by kristopher
I've put up with his spineless approach to legislating.

I've put up with his unending waffling, milquetoast responses to Republican obstructionism.

But the limitless examples of his total tone-deafness have finally pushed me over the edge. I no longer ask on a case-by-case basis if he is too thick to think, because it is now obvious he is as dumb as a stump.

I hope he wins in NV, but he must be replaced.

Reid talked up the New Castle County executive following a memorial ceremony on the Capitol's east steps to commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. O'Donnell on Tuesday night won the GOP nomination to face Coons in November — a result that has split the national Republican Party.

But Reid said Coons would have won even if Rep. Mike Castle (R) had prevailed over O'Donnell.

"I'm going to be very honest with you — Chris Coons, everybody knows him in the Democratic caucus. He's my pet. He's my favorite candidate," Reid said.

"Let me tell you about him: A graduate of ...

1. His Senate colleagues will decide that issue.
First, his constituents in Nevada will decide whether to re-elect him.

I hope they do.

2. Out of curiosity who would you replace him with?
Sadly not a lot of spines on our side.
I would like Bernie Sanders. There will soon be 10 posts telling me he is not a democrat, he is an independent.

3. And this time let's replace him with someone who is from a secure
state so that they will not have to play politics in order to get elected. And yes I realize that no state is really secure but there are certainly states more likely to stay Dem than the one Reid is from.

4. Let's get him reelected first
Without that, the point it moot.

7. That sure won't happen unless a lot of Blue Dog Democrats get re-elected to the Senate
... thus maintaining the Dem majority there.

9. Let's make sure that he is re-elected. Then replace him with someone who is not a wimp.

10. Harry Reid is a fighter
Edited on Mon Sep-27-10 10:03 PM by Canuckistanian
He fights leadership, accomplishments and excitement. And he's beaten them all.

Re-elect him. Then send him to the back benches.

12. I personally like Harry Reid. He has a thankless job and rarely
gets credit for doing anything right.

13. That sure didn't take long.
I just got a 5x9 glossy double sided mailer from O'D featuring the "He's my pet" quote in bright red font over Reid's picture.

This is the second since Friday, I think it is how she's going campaign - smear Coons in these mailers where her charges can't be effectively evaluated.
