7. My vote plus the households.
I'm going to lobby the family vote. Three indies for Meek.

3. This is a clusterfuck no matter what...
Look at the trend. Rubio's lead only grew when Crist began losing support to Meek. But Meek is still a distant third. So distant that I doubt he'd be able to win even if Crist stepped aside - since it's not known if Crist supporters would go to Meek or Rubio.

However, if Meek steps aside, I think it's pretty much a guarantee his supporters would shift toward Crist. If that happened, Crist could easily make up the ten-point difference.

4. But will Dems show up?
Edited on Sat Sep-25-10 07:20 PM by OmahaBlueDog
If they don't, it could screw up any chance Sink has of being elected

On edit - the poll numbers for this race are all over the road. Here is a link to RCP for Scott/Sink

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2010/governor/fl/florida_governor_scott_vs_sink_vs_chiles-1607.html

The RCP Average is Sink by 1.6

5. I think they'll show up if it's a contested race...
I believe a two-man race between Crist-Rubio will drive more Dems out and help Sink's chances.

However, if it appears Rubio is going to win easily (as in, he stays around ten-points) over both Crist and Meek, they might just say bag it and stay home.

8. I think it's too late.
I think people are tired of Crist. Attorney General to Governor. He's already had the two top spots and did very little to make a difference in Florida.

9.  If Crist
If Crist wasn't in the race Meek would be losing by Hugh Rodman size proportions. Google the 1994 Florida Senate race.

I'm willing to lose the Senate seat rather than see Crist take it.

17. Not going to happen.
Neither side wants it to change because they both have skin in the game.

12. So a Republicand leads a Republican in a race for a Senate seat currently held by a
Republican (LeMieux)?

You stick with the Democrat. You don't split the Florida Democratic Party for YEARS to come in iorder to deliver a Senate seat to another Republican. And that Republican well might be Rubio, not Crist.

Or the democratic wing of the Democratic party.

14. It's a picture of how poorly the FL Dems are doing their job.
The party here is NOT doing everything they can to get their candidate elected or to put up great candidates so there isn't as much of a disparity in the polls. They're not getting out their message, either. This really needs to be addressed before the primaries, before flavor-of-the-week candidates overtake the races.

BTW, I am voting for the democratic ticket because of my concern for the health of the party.

15. Ask Crist to move aside and endorse Congressman Meek.
It's the right thing to do.

Meek for Senate, Sink for Governor.

19. Meek just can't win. We've got to face that fact and take half
a loaf. At least Crist has been savaged enough by this 'fellow' Rethugs that he might actually be helpful to us in the next Congress. At worst he wouldn't be any worse (and potentially not as bad) as Nelson. Meek doesn't have the chance of a snowball in hell of being elected. Here in the Tampa Bay area I've seen exactly ONE Meek commercial. To describe it: meek.
