186. The last time I weighed 186 was just before President Clinton took office…
The first time.

Almost fifteen pounds between that 200 lb and me mark. The BMI says I should weigh in at around 170 lbs., but that would leave me with hardly any excess fat.

I had to do something. Dr. Budev told me that they would not consider me a candidate for transplant if my BMI was over 30. I was at 29. It was just six months ago. It is now at 27.1. Still obese, but I am close to being in the normal range.

You see, when I was in the hospital back in 2004; I needed that extra weight to help me through the crisis I fell into. After being admitted with a nasty case of pneumonia, I developed what they call Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS).

It comes down to eating when hungry, and not eating when you are not hungry.

Sounds simple.

Watch the videos I linked to... I also bought the book. And I've kept 50 pounds off for close to four years now.

No, I am not thin by BMI standards, I am just overweight. Realize most of that weight came on due to Avandia, but it also took three years to get it off.

12. The easiest and most successful diet
Edited on Fri Sep-24-10 12:42 AM by OnyxCollie
I've been on is to eat anchovies and smoked oysters for breakfast. I started last January when I weighed 192 (should have been 160). By April, I had lost 20 pounds. I am currently down to 168.

I'll admit it anchovies and oysters will never be confused for a toaster strudel, and the cheap stuff varies in quality, but I kinda look forward to eating breakfast, especially when I splurge for the good stuff.

jarred anchovies are more economical and the resealable container controls salt consumption.

I stopped eating Wheat Thins and feel much better for it. I also stopped drinking soda, not that I was a big consumer anyway (3-4 cans a week). Still drink (good) beer.

i used to feel like I was hungry all the time. Now, not so much. Probably helps to have the HFCS monkey off my back.

Give it a try.

Edit to add: I like your writing.

13. I eat calories that are good for you and cut out all empty caloties...
By that I mean food stuff that offers no nutritional value such soda or snacky shit.

I also cut way back on the meat.

I eat Yogurt every morning, drink a lot of tea, a combination of 3 parts green, 1 part red and 1 part white a little honey and then some lemon for taste.

I try to eat blueberries and walnuts and almonds, a lot of veggies, mostly raw and good amounts of fruits.

I lost 15 lbs in less than 3 months and I never feel hungry at all.

14. Blueberries and yogurt are delicious.
Been snacking on the cherry tomatoes out in the garden. Pop a couple of those and take a bite of basil... Mmm, that's good eatin'.
