6. Actually, Omaha used to be the capital.

Later it was decided that the capital should move to a town called Lancaster. Omaha interests agreed as long as Lancaster renamed itself "Lincoln." They figured that would halt the move, as people in the Lancaster area were generally sympathetic toward the south during and after the war. It didn't work, though.
