25 years of the Mexico City quake and social changes
As I read an article on the local paper about the quake and how it changed society, and started the way for a far more self reliant population... I could not help but to wonder if Katrina also opened a chasm. This chasm is one between social society and the government. In Mexico it did, and it also opened the way for clear and free elections. So I had to wonder... been only five years, if Katrina will have a similar effect, or rather if Katrina affected such a small percentage of the population (in reality it did, even if the area was far larger than Mexico City), that it will be effectively contained.

I know the flood of 1927 did have effects... but I have to wonder...

Oh and yes the media covered all the errors, mistakes and lies from the Presidency of Miguel de la Madrid... sounded awful familiar, including the heck of a job brownie moment, and no, we don't need no stinking help moment.
