Fire Danger Level: LOW (DIAL-UP WARNING)
I don't think I have ever seen the fire danger level "LOW" out here. Maybe I have, but I don't remember it. I
always thought "MODERATE" was as low as it ever gets. But it is cold and wet with no lightning lately. Ice fog is forecast for tomorrow AM.

Thirty days and a wake-up, if you know what I mean.

The Reno Air Races are coming up. Two flights of T-6 Texans flew over the lookout today, headed toward Reno (and probably the time trials). Last year I also had some P-51s and a ME-109 fly over headed to Reno (the ME-109 flying lead in formation with a King Air 200). I'll have the camera and the video ready, if they come over tomorrow (Thursday).

More cold mixed-precip this morning.

Horse Ridge gets wet this morning.

The tall-standing (but derelict) Fox Butte lookout to my east-southeast got precip off and on all day. Notice the Water-Dog (steam) forming to the right of the lookout along the ridge.

Water-Dog to the right of the Fox Butte lookout tower.

Flight of two T-6 Texans fly over the lookout headed for the Reno Air Races.

OMG! The prop is stopped! Never mind: shot at f5.6 1/1600sec.

All that natural beauty and an airshow, too!

5. Hey, short-timer...
...thanks for all the pics and the updates. Prop is stopped, lol.

Hope your personal air show continues tomorrow so you can get more pics of vintage aircraft.

6. La Niña year. Wet and weird.
As a guy who has lived here a very long time, okay my whole life, the weather has been unusually wet and cool this season.

Love the pics. Good luck on your transition trip back home, and props to Nick.

I lost my dog of 17 years recently. Charlie and me and Mrs. D and my kids road-tripped and visited every county in Oregon and all across Washington, British Columbia, Alberta, Idaho, Utah, Montana, Nevada, California.

Give Nick an extra-special scratch for me, bud.

See you around.
