Eugene Robinson: "Barbour's Generation Gap"
Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who may seek the Republican nomination for president, is trying to sell the biggest load of revisionist nonsense about race, politics and the South that I've ever heard. Ever...

The 62-year-old Barbour claimed that it was "my generation" that led the switch: "my generation, who went to integrated schools. I went to integrated college -- never thought twice about it."

The "old Democrats" fought integration tooth and nail, Barbour said, but "by my time, people realized that was the past, it was indefensible, it wasn't gonna be that way anymore. And so the people who really changed the South from Democrat to Republican was a different generation from those who fought integration."

Not a word of this is true.

Here's The Whole Article

Barbour is loony... and dangerous.

1. He and V FoX, R, NC seem to reading off the same page. She
this wild-eyed speech of total revisionist history
of Republicans in the South.

What can we expect. The Fundies have rewritten American
History.

What makes this scary--do school children learn this???
How can they ever pass a standardized test???

2. Think she actually sees it that way?
Maybe some kind of mental block or mental revisioning? My mother-in-law, who abused and beat her kids with anything handy from emotional manipulation to baseball bats, looks back fondly at those days, believing she brought goodness and light as the "Kool-Aid mom" to her children and all their neighborhood friends.

Likewise, maybe Barbour "has" to see herself as some kind of champion of integration...

he was riding around in pick up trucks with his pals, terrorizing local black people..It was just how it was back then.. and I'd also bet that he may have even attended a few klan meetings.

I have no proof..no "links"..just a gut feeling about him..
