8. I'm convinced she'll run

And I'm convinced of that because I think she feels entitled to the presidency. Remember that Stuart Smalley line, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and doggone it, people like me"? Well, she isn't good or smart enough and not many like her but I think that's Palin's perception of herself, that's she's some kind of volkish Madonna (the religious icon, not the pop star), entitled to the presidency by virtue of her moral and spiritual superiority to, well, everyone. Also, she's the most self-serving woman since Lady Macbeth and running for the presidency gives her a lot of opportunities for loot.

Whether she'd win the nomination is another matter. On any kind of reasonable planet, she wouldn't have a chance but in the modern day, when politics has been turned into American President, a reality show dominated by soundbites, she just might win the nomination.

And then she would be crushed. And I mean Reagan-Mondale crushed.
