If Alex Sink beats Rick Scott, that'll have HUGE implications for Congress in 2012. Right now our state is so gerrymandered to the advantage of Republicans it's not even funny. Dems outnumber Reps in this state but Re outnumber Dems in our Congressional delegation nearly 2-1. If Sink wins, the Republican legislature will no longer be able to easily rig districts to their advantage. If we get sink elected, Florida could possibly send 4-5 more Dems in the House in 2012 while the Reps lose 4-5. This November may be bad for Dems in the short run, but if the national party targets Florida Dems will have a firmer grasp on power for at least a decade.

1. It would be nice to see some sanity in Talahassee again
We left in 2002, for a variety of reasons. Not least of which was jeb bush meddling in health care..they put my hiv dr out of business on trash charges then sent me to a gynaecologist..I m male by the way. There was that theft of election where 360 thousand dems got dumped for 'being imaginary felons'..we know who the felons where, also saw the ballots from our polling place dumped into truck mounted shredders, threats to us from the jb maladministration for speaking out about it, and losing jobs and home.

I know there are a lot of nice folks there..but the crazy rightwing drowns out the sane left.

2. Sink is doing very well in the polls. She is either tied or leading in most.
In a recent Rasmussen poll she was losing, but within the MOE. She can beat Rick Scott and this is very exciting. Every Florida Dem ought to be salivating at the very real chance of putting a Dem in office for the first time in 12 years. And the DNC needs to help her out. It could be a true silver lining in an otherwise blah November.
