Everything You Need to Know About Glenn Beck's 'Restoring Honor' Rally Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Glenn Beck intends to save this nation from communists and other ne'er-do-wells at his "Restoring Honor" rally, live from Washington D.C. Will you be there? Because we will! Oh, yes! In the meantime, here's what to expect. ....

How big will this fucking thing be?

Estimates are between 100,000 and 300,000 attendees, based on absolutely no evidence.

Will you get murdered simply by stepping foot in Washington D.C., the Death Capital?

Most likely. But, as a friendly Tea Party guide showed us earlier this week, your chances of survival are better if you stay within the designated Tea Party Safety Oasis (blue): .... (see graphic, above)

What other class acts will be there, besides Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin?

Oh, a few:

Dr. Alveda King: Martin Luther King Jr.'s niece and conservative Washington think-tank and pro-life movement fixture who's usually tapped for events like this to provide "black people cover" for stupid wingnuts.

Jo Dee Messina: the poor man's Taylor Swift, from the '90s.

Tony La Russa and Albert Pujols: Manager and best player for the St. Louis Cardinals, respectively. What the hell? Apparently Tony La Russa actually bought the whole "non-political" bit.

Will Gawker's Washington political bureau be covering this event?

Why yes! We are — as of now! — credentialed, and will be sending reports from the scene. Please check back tomorrow for coverage of Glenn Beck's historic, important rally. It will be like the Martin Luther King Jr.'s "Dream" speech all over again!

.... Realizing that living in the Northeast would limit her chances of achieving country music stardom, Messina moved to Nashville, Tennessee at age 19.<4> She worked various temp jobs, including computer programming and accounting, while entering talent contests around Nashville. ....

Messina's finances suffered due to a series of poor business decisions and a change of management that led her to nearly declaring bankruptcy; she nearly lost her home and her car.<2> She spent nearly a year trying to write new songs and material for a new album that could help bring herself out of bankruptcy.<5> She credited the radio success of Bye, Bye and I'm Alright with giving her a "second chance." ....

In April 2004 Messina entered a rehabilitation facility in Utah for treatment of alcoholism.<17> Messina says her manager, Stuart Dill, confronted her in Houston following a rough performance after the 2004 Super Bowl. She says she wasn't "stumbling drunk," but she acknowledges that she doesn't recall much about the performance either. "I forgot the words to Stand Beside Me. That's what I can remember," Messina said. After Dill's confrontation, Messina was on a plane to Utah the next day. She entered a detox center for a few days before checking into rehab. Messina doesn't blame Muzquiz or Curb Records for her drinking problem... ....

3. I love Jim Newell
I hated when he left Wonkette but working for Gawker is pretty much the same thing. I look forward to the collective snarkopolis of Gawker/Wonkette coverage for tomorrow's BecKKK rally.

4. I just discovered Gawker a few months ago, don't go almost anywhere else but DU, don't know the
individuals. I depend on DU to filter the best from other places (Wonkette, etc.).

6. Morning kick - can't believe that a dozen T-baggers from my local area, including
the local radio mini-BecKKK are there "on assignment" (meaning it's paid for by his station?). He qualified the crowd estimate, parsing to say the crowd extends the length of the reflecting pool, "not the whole mall." MSRNC says the crowd is "LINING" the reflective pool.

I called the on-air dude who was peddling it as being "honorable" and put out the "I have a SCHEME" meme. It's always amazing that these local "news" people claim that they have NOT HEARD this or that. Things we know widely and deeply on DU, they haven't heard at all. So I loaded him down with BecKKK's claiming he DIDN'T KNOW it was the MLK anniversary, that he paid a ghost writer for "his" novel, and how he is constantly setting a future deadline for an event just around the corner that his flying monkeys are enjoined to keep listening for. The dude said he didn't know anything about all this.
