6. Some bad threads get an unnecessary amount of attention. Some good threads get looked over.
And there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, at least to me, as to why. Please try not to take it personally.

Most of here are on the same side and want to see President Obama succeed. Our disagreements come in how to get from A to B and how long it should take to get there.

I gave your linked thread a kick and a rec, for what it's worth.

Please don't be bothered by this.

:hi:

7. I don't really take it personally
But , however this site is supposed to work, it's not working for me. It's not working for our party and it's not working for our Democratic President.

8. That's one way to look at it.
Another way is to look at it as some wish he would be progressive on more issues, especially those that would like ss to be left alone or some that want their rights affirmed by their party and its representatives. That is different than your conclusion.

I'm sorry, this just isn't working for me.

10. To me that thread appeared informational (which is good) and did not need a reply
It did not mean I do not want him to succeed. I voted for him and most likely will again. This time his success is highly dependent on the outcome of November's elections. If the PubTards win I think there will be no positive action for two years, trumped up charges and subpoenas, and they will use that as a reason to win all houses in 2012. In other words, they will hold us hostage. So VOTE!

11. 2 things
First of all you weren't the first one to post about it. I get complaints when I repeatedly post in repeat threads.

Second, it succeeded in supporting (creating, saving, whatever) 3.3 million jobs. You realize we've lost liek 8 MILLION right? So that's not even half way there. I'm happy for the 3 million, but it's a bit like Iraq, I'm also aware of the 50K still there. The banks got 100% on the dollar for their "toxic assets". But we can't get a WPA program, or anything close to it. And we can't get a "bail out" of the mortgages, which would go a long way towards "stimulus".

It's the old joke about prison. The warden shows up and announces that "everyone is getting a change of underwear". Jones, you change with Smith. Casey, with Johnson.......

Yes, it's better than nothing. I didn't elect nothing.

12. Totally wrong assumption..
People on DU very much wanted Obama to succeed in cleaning house of GOP partisans, managing the wreck of the economy, bringing back social justice to his Justice Department, bringing back our freedoms, reforming health care in a way that makes it better not worse, ending the treasury draining wars and not starting new ones (Yemen and Pakistan).

He made weak attempts at all the above and then caved in to the policies of his predecessors. Who would have thought given the cabinet he chose :sarcasm: So yes we want Obama to succeed. We do not want a lot of his post election flip-flop policies to succeed as they are making things worse.

We also want to put pressure on him to do the right things since he obviously has tremendous pressure to do the wrong things.

13. Luckily I read it before you self-deleted it
so I can respond. Maybe it is because it is the last week in August and most folks are taking a break, are on vacation, or are getting their kids back to school. In any event the president's record is its own reward and the record speaks for itself. Obama faced 24/7 opposition to everything from the Pubs, they promised to do that the morning after the election. No surprise there. Then Obama proceeded to veer right, in his appointments, in his backing off from important promises, in escalating the Afghanistan war (your opposition to same duly noted).

Look, it is a combination of things, but don't take it personally, Obama is a man, he is responsible for his actions. Leadership is more than a popularity contest, it takes character and courage. I have not seen that much in the way of fierce advocacy or bold initiatives thus far. Just my dos centavos.

Hey, KPete's thread about the latest WikiLeak sank like a stone, without even one reply, so don't feel pregnant, you are not getting fucked. I thought that thread was dynamite, yet no one here saw fit to even acknowledge it.

Does not surprise me that someone that has been so self-conscious about the way he has triangulated his decision-making garners only lukewarm support from those teeming millions that cheered his election.

Hands off my Social Security!
Hands off Latin America!

Again, just my dos centavos
