I don't know a lot of the fine points of FL politics. I just know I didn't like Greene.

3. Will Greene actually back Meek?
From what I've seen he's more of an egomaniac and power hound than party loyalist. I hope I'm wrong. Rubio will be well funded.

7. Maybe we should stop referring to him in such terms..
Uhhh Mr Greene if you're reading this I apologize for calling you a sleazebag and if you would please help your opponent beat Rubio I promise to never call you one again!

15. Even If He Did Contribute To Meek He's Limited To A One Thousand Dollar Contribution.
If his wife contributes it's $2,000.00

2. Meek was outspent 5 to 1 and did much better than the polls predicted.
He can't be dismissed.

9. Meek is one of my favorite folks in Congress. He, Tim Ryan of Ohio, and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz-FL
Spoke almost every evening/night during Special Orders in the House leading up to the elections of 2006.

May have not made a difference to most folks, but that is where I got energized again about politics.

11. His chances are very slim---VERY
I am torn between my loyalty to the Democratic party and the chance that Rubio might win if I vote for Meek over Crist. I am torn. And really afraid of a Rubio senate win. He's a teabagger.

12. This race is going to be a weird one
with Charlie Crist involved.

Green was very enthusiastic in supporting Kendrick Meek in his concession speech last night. I hope that helps.

13. Hard to tell
This state has traditionally been a "red" state. I was surprised when Kosmas and Grayson got elected, and when Crist won (he was not conservtive enough for most). Rubio is one of those astroturf Tea Party guys. Notwithstanding the cognitive dissonance created by hating government employees yet spending millions so he can get a government job, the Tea Party sect is still a minority and their mindless voting for him can actually help. If the conservative votes are split between Christ and Rubio and the liberal votes all go to Meek, he could win.

14. Kosmas And Grayson Won Single Congressional Districts
This race is between Crist and Rubio with Meek, ironically, playing the spoiler.

This is a disaster. Rubio is a stalking horse for Jeb Bush and is his instrument to end Charlie Christ's political career whom Jeb Bush hates.

the votes for Greene and Meek do not total one million. If Charlie now comes in and the democratic vote is split, it allows Rubio to slide in. The voters on the dem side have got to turn out in November in large numbers or it is a loss.

17. better all the time
Meek not only beat Green but kept most of his powder dry. He still has plenty of cash to make the November run. Republicans pretty well emptied their coffers in a losing effort backing McCollum over Scott in the Governor's race. Crist's donors have pretty well stuck with him after the move. Rubio has cash, but cannot call on the party for more because the big money is in the Crist camp and the Fl republican party is roughly broke. The only good news for the Rs is that Rick Scott can self fund and will not be needing their money. The bad news is that they are about to lose the Governor's mansion during redistricting.

Crist will be spending his plentiful cash to drive Rubio's numbers down, Rubio will have to respond. This leaves Meek with a pretty good shot at it. With Crist in the race, Meek does not need the usual number of (I) voters to win, he really just needs solid turnout by the usual (D) voters to win. There is now a very real chance that the Sink-Scott race will drive (D) turnout up because we have a very serious chance to take the Governor's race and it will be quite easy to paint both Rubio and Scott as extreme. The results yesterday were very good for our prospects.

Anyone that suggests otherwise is lying to themselves.
